jeb's approach
At the heart of my understanding and communication of acting lies the foundation of Meisner.
I don’t teach Meisner, but my teaching is deeply influenced by it because I’ve learned from teachers who have learned from it.
It makes perfect sense to me.
Reaching the truth—your truth—through complete immersion in the given circumstances. Exploring the resistance that may arise while always maintaining a safe space for an actor’s privacy.
I believe in guided exploration, combining empathetic understanding of the human condition and the human being in front of me with disciplined analysis of the text.
When you present great writing, characters, and language to actors who are enthusiastic and willing to experiment, stumble, and push their comfort zones, exciting discoveries and growth occur.
I promise to meet you where you are and provide safe, supportive, and refined guidance.
great material plus commitment = growth

"we're not here to prove the ideas of any teacher; we're here to find what works best for you. as long as it helps you and infringes on nobody, then it's on the table. my job is to show you the tools and teach you how to decide what to use""
