Welcome to the beginning of what promises to be the busiest Vancouver Television Season in recent history! The harvest is already beginning (about a month earlier than most years), with season and series openers beginning to cast right now.
This is golden opportunity time – when “Episode 1’s” are being cast. It’s your best chance of booking that recurring character that can lead to big things. In Business Hours, we’ve begun to look at the schedule for the season, to help to identify and prepare for the specific opportunities that are coming for each actor.
You have some sweet spots to look out for, and if you don’t plan for them, they could pass you by without you even noticing it. FIND THEM! Consider the style of the shows, when they will be casting, who is casting, how that casting team sees you, and how strong your resume is. These factors will help you to know where to be aiming, and will begin to reveal very obviously how to be investing your efforts. Use this info to guide how you focus your training, networking, marketing efforts, and personal care.
….and be prepared to make the most of this outstanding situation!
In addition to this focus, on this weeks Business Hours agenda, we’ll review A&E’s latest show,The Returned. I’ve been called to coach for it a few times in the past week, and have a good idea of the style of the show. It’s based on the French Series, “Les Revenants”. We’ll use recon on that show, and what we know about A&E as a basis for review.
Looks like this weeks Wednesday Class (9:30am-12:30pm) is at capacity already, but if there’s enough interest, we’ll add another time slot. So, if you are interested in joining this week, please submit the wait list form!
It’s a $44 drop in – all info including the wait list form is here
